الكَسَل

Al-Kasal

Door 2 · 7 days

One of three roads after Door 1. You walk the one you choose. See all three

Kasal is knowing what to do and not getting up to do it.

Laziness

Door 2 · Day 1

The alarm rings for Fajr. “Two more minutes.”

You know what to do. You just don't get up.

The Quran has a word for this: kasal.

وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ

that man will only have what he has worked towards;

An-Najm 53:39 · Abdel Haleem

Al-Sa'di explains this ayah: every person has their own deeds, good and bad. Nobody else's effort counts for them. Getting up right now is Sayqal's suggestion.

Your step

Right now, think of one small thing you've left out of laziness. Two minutes, no more.

Get up and do it. Then tap Done.

The seven days

Every day, one small step. Two or three minutes.

  1. Day 1Two more minutes
  2. Day 2The heavy one
  3. Day 3When you're done
  4. Day 4Sluggish
  5. Day 5As much as you can
  6. Day 6Get it ready
  7. Day 7Looking back

One question a day

Door 2 · Day 1

What usually stops you from getting up?

  • Feeling tired or sleepy
  • My phone
  • I just don't feel like it
  • Something else I'm busy with

This stays on your phone.

On Day 7, all your answers come back to you.

After 7 days

One small thing, done on time, every day. You'll see you can.

Now you know what holds you back the most. This line stays next to Al-Kasal on your road.
